Women face unique challenges in both the legal system and society at large – and that’s why we’re proud to support the work Rosie’s Place does.
The power of community, advocacy, and empowerment can help shine a light on those who need it most. That’s why we are proud to shine a light on Rosie’s Place, an organization that has been a beacon of hope for women in Boston since 1974.
A Safe Haven for Women
Rosie’s Place was the first-ever women-only shelter in the US. The organization was founded to give sanctuary to women experiencing homelessness and economic hardship. However, the Rosie’s Place mission has grown to include comprehensive services to help women regain independence and stability throughout their lives.
Rosie’s Place provides critical services designed specifically to help women in need in the Greater Boston area. Those services include:
- A Food Pantry & Daily Meals: Providing nutritious groceries and meals to women and families facing food insecurity.
- ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Classes: Helping women gain language skills for better job opportunities and self-sufficiency.
- Legal Assistance: Offering free legal aid to help women navigate housing, immigration, and other legal challenges.
- Wellness Care: Connecting women with essential healthcare services and mental health resources.
- Housing & Job Search Support: Assisting women in finding stable housing and employment opportunities.
- Community Outreach & One-on-One Support: Ensuring women receive personalized assistance tailored to their needs.
A Partnership We Are Proud Of
At Santoro & Gray, we believe legal advocacy and community support cannot exist without one another. This last holiday season, our team spent time volunteering at Rosie’s Place. We got to see, firsthand, the kindness, dedication, and resilience that define their mission.

Women face so many challenges in society, both in the legal system and beyond. Whether it’s fighting for fair wages, navigating legal barriers, or seeking safe housing, the work Rosie’s Place does is critical to ensure no woman is left behind. Their work aligns with our own values at Santoro & Gray: justice, dignity, and unwavering support for those in need.
How to Help
Rosie’s Place is only possible thanks to the generosity of the Greater Boston community. There are so many ways to support their mission; consider volunteering or donating to help spread awareness. Every contribution, big or small, helps make a difference in the lives of women striving for a fresh start.
We are honored to support Rosie’s Place and encourage our community to do the same. Together, we can help create a safer, brighter future for women in Boston.
