On his way home from school, a five-year-old boy was fatally struck by a school bus. On Monday, April 29, 2025, an UP Academy Dorchester student had just exited off the bus when he was hit.
Witness Nathanial Thomas says he pulled up to his home in Hyde Park to find a young woman, the boy’s relative, screaming in front of his driveway. He helped the injured child lying on the ground before Boston police, fire, and EMS arrived. The boy was rushed to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Police continue to investigate the scene, focusing on video, GPS, and witness evidence. They have not revealed the names of the young victim or the bus driver.
