Trip-And-Fall Leg Injury Case

While visiting a shipping store to discuss an issue about a package delivery, the victim tripped over the high threshold of the main entryway and fell onto the exterior deck of the business. After minimal settlement offers from the defense topping out at $60,000, a Plymouth Superior Court jury awarded $1.65 million to the victim after a five-day trial.

After being struck by a tree limb, which was cut down by a landscaping company, a 30-year-old man suffered severe and traumatic brain injuries. Due to the lack of proper precautions, an $11 million settlement was obtained for the injured individual.
Open Water Boat Injury Case

A young woman experienced profound and irreversible injuries when she was pulled into a boat propeller while swimming in open water. In her lawsuit, a $3.5 million settlement was reached. Additionally, the terms of the settlement reflect a commitment to the well-being of others, as the defendant was required to complete a boating safety course, engage in 100 hours of volunteer work with patients in a rehabilitation program, and donate $2000 annually to a charity of the victim’s choosing for 10 years.
Single-engine Plane Crash, Explosion, and Fire

Drowning Man Left Unsupervised

A man in his 40s drowned while exercising in a pool required to have lifeguards and life-saving devices present, but was left unsupervised at the time. Multi-million dollar resolution.
Children’s Motrin® Case

When a young child was given over-the-counter medication, Children’s Motrin®, to treat a mild fever, she developed the severe side effects of Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS) and Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN). Due to these traumatic side effects, the little girl suffered several life-threatening conditions including blindness, significant respiratory damage, and substantial loss of skin. The Supreme Judicial Court upheld the decision in Reckis v. Johnson & Johnson, 471 Mass. 272 (2015), and the firm successfully persuaded the U.S. Supreme Court not to review this ruling. The final judgment exceeded $147 million.

Wrongful Death Drowning

Residential Gas Explosion Case

A woman suffered an untimely death in an explosion while at her home, due to a leak in the gas main. The utility company failed to inspect, monitor, and maintain the pipe, and acted with gross disregard for the wellbeing of the residents and their property. As a result of the tragic loss, a $3.6 million settlement was awarded to the family.

Big Dig I-90 Connector Tunnel Wrongful Death Case

MBTA Train Medical Emergency Case

While on an MBTA commuter train, a passenger suffered cardiac arrest and required immediate medical care. Other passengers repeatedly requested train personnel to make an emergency stop but were ignored and dismissed. Instead, the train continued to make scheduled stops for approximately 20 minutes. When the individual finally received emergency medical attention, it was too late, and the passenger died shortly after. As a result of the tragic negligence of the MBTA personnel, a $3.9 million settlement was received by the family of the victim.
MIT Fraternity Lawsuit

A lawsuit against the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the FIJI fraternity was sparked by the death of a college student during an extreme hazing ritual. The victim’s family received a $7.7 million settlement, and the prosecuting attorneys were able to solidify a 10-year commitment from the institution dedicated to producing professional anti-hazing and anti-binge-drinking educational materials.
