Victoria Santoro Featured in Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly’s Quote of the Week

We’re proud to share that Santoro & Gray co-founder Victoria M. Santoro was recently featured in Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly for her commentary on D’Antonio v. Tripadvisor, LLC.

Tori’s comments on the case also earned a spot as the publication’s “Quote of the Week.”

“Every service our citizens use, every website they click on, is forcing us into one-sided contractual terms that regular citizens do not understand and have no ability to negotiate.”

Tori’s comments on D’Antonio v. Tripadvisor

Most of us click through websites, apps and online services without giving much thought to the lengthy terms and conditions that can potentially come with them. But those agreements can have real consequences when a dispute arises.

Tori’s comments highlight a larger concern for consumers: the growing number of contractual terms people are expected to accept simply to use everyday services. These agreements are generally written by the companies offering the service, leaving consumers with little opportunity to understand, change or negotiate the terms.

For Tori, the issue goes beyond one website or one case. It raises broader questions about meaningful consent and what rights consumers may unknowingly give up when they click “accept.”
